Agency Guide
Everything you need to deliver professional website health reports to your clients — under your brand.
Getting Started
Agency plans give you everything in Pro, plus the tools you need to manage multiple client websites under your own brand. Your clients never need to log in or create accounts — you run the audits, generate branded reports, and share them however you prefer.
What's included
- White-label branding — your logo, colours, and company name on all reports
- Branded subdomain or custom domain
- 50-200 verified domains for client sites
- Notes and actions per site with internal/client-facing visibility
- Report customisation — choose exactly what each client sees
- Monitoring — SSL, DNS, security header checks with scheduled re-scans
- Score history and trends for every client site
- Advanced Google Search Console data
- Full, unredacted results on all scans (even unverified domains)
First steps
- Create your account and choose an Agency plan
- Set up your branding — upload your logo and set your brand colour in Branding settings
- Verify client domains — add a meta tag or DNS TXT record to each client's site
- Run your first audit — scan a client site to see full results
- Generate a branded report — download a PDF with your logo and colours to share with your client
White-Label Branding
Your branding appears on every PDF report you generate. Go to Branding in your sidebar to configure:
- Agency logo — uploaded and automatically converted to WebP for optimal quality in reports
- Brand colour — used as the accent colour throughout your reports (hex value)
- Company name — displayed in report headers
You can update your branding at any time. Changes apply to new reports immediately. Previously generated PDFs keep the branding that was active when they were created.
Subdomain vs Custom Domain
Both options let you run Healthy URL under your brand. The difference is what your clients see in the URL.
Branded subdomain (Agency plan)
Your platform runs at youragency.healthyurl.co.uk. This is set up instantly — no DNS changes needed on your end, and SSL is included automatically. It's the quickest way to start and works well for freelancers and smaller agencies.
Custom domain (Agency Pro plan)
Your platform runs at audits.youragency.com — or any subdomain on your own domain. Your clients will never see the Healthy URL name. It looks and feels like your own product.
Setting up a custom domain is straightforward:
- Choose a subdomain (e.g.
audits.youragency.com) - Add a CNAME record in your DNS pointing to the address we provide
- We handle SSL certificate provisioning and renewal automatically
Tip: Start with a branded subdomain to get up and running quickly. You can upgrade to a custom domain at any time by moving to Agency Pro.
Managing Client Sites
Adding a client site
Scan the client's URL, then click Verify Domain Ownership on the results page. You'll need to add either a meta tag or DNS TXT record to the client's site — as their web agency, you should have access to do this.
Once verified, you get full results on every scan, the Repair Log, and all the agency tools for that domain.
Domain limits
| Plan | Verified domains |
|---|---|
| Agency | 50 |
| Agency Pro | 200 |
| Need more? | Contact sales |
Full results without verification
Agency plans see full, unredacted results on every scan — even for domains you haven't verified yet. This lets you run quick assessments of prospective client sites without setting up domain verification first. Useful for pitching new business.
Removing a client
If you lose a client, remove their domain from your Domains page to free up the slot. This permanently deletes all associated data (crawled pages, keywords, scan history). Any PDF reports you've already downloaded are yours to keep.
Notes & Actions
For each client site, you can add notes and action items. This turns Healthy URL from a scanning tool into a lightweight project manager for your web work.
Two visibility levels
- Agency only — Internal notes only you see. Use these for context the scan can't know, like "Client doesn't use email — ignore SPF warning" or "Site migration planned for Q3".
- Include in report — Client-facing commentary that appears in the PDF report alongside the scan results. Use these to add your expert opinion: "We recommend prioritising the SSL certificate renewal before addressing the security headers."
Action tracking
Each note can be an action item with a status: open or done. Track tasks per client site — what needs doing, what's been completed. If the same issue keeps reappearing across scans, that's a conversation to have with the client.
AI notes summary
When you include notes in a report, the AI generates a summary from your client-facing notes. This sits alongside the executive summary in the PDF, giving the report a personal, consultancy feel rather than just an automated scan output.
Report Customisation
Not every finding is relevant to every client. Report customisation lets you control exactly what appears in each client's PDF report.
What you can toggle
- Entire categories — skip DNS Health for a simple brochure site, or Accessibility & Structure for a site that doesn't need rich results
- Individual findings — hide specific warnings that aren't relevant
- Your client-facing notes
- The AI executive summary
- The AI-generated notes summary
Common scenarios
- Client's domain doesn't send email → hide "missing SPF record" to avoid confusion
- Simple brochure site → hide Accessibility & Structure category to keep the report focused
- Issue already being addressed → hide it so the client isn't alarmed about something in progress
Important: You always see full results in your dashboard. Customisation only affects what the client sees in the PDF report. Your configuration is saved per domain, so set it once and every future report uses the same settings.
Monitoring
Monitoring runs lightweight checks between full audits to catch problems before your client notices them. Know about issues before they do.
What's monitored
- SSL certificate expiry — warns you before a client's certificate expires, so you can renew it proactively
- DNS changes — detects unexpected changes to DNS records that could indicate a problem or unauthorised modification
- Security header changes — alerts if headers are removed or modified, often after a server update or migration
- Uptime — multi-location pings to check if the site is responding, avoiding false positives from single-location checks
- Scheduled re-scans — automatic full audits on a recurring schedule without manual intervention
Monitoring frequency
| Plan | Monitoring checks | Re-scans | Alerts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Agency | Weekly | Weekly | — |
| Agency Pro | Daily | Daily | Email & notifications |
Agency Dashboard
The agency dashboard gives you a real-time overview of all your client sites in one place, with a traffic light system that surfaces problems at a glance.
Status indicators
| Status | Meaning | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Green | All good — site up, SSL valid, no changes | None needed |
| Amber | Warning — SSL expiring soon, minor score drop, non-critical change | Investigate when convenient |
| Red | Action needed — site down, SSL expired, significant score drop, DNS changed | Investigate immediately |
Switch between list view (for quick scanning across many sites) and grid view (for a visual overview). Everything updates in real-time via Livewire — no page refresh needed.
Score History & Proving Your Value
Score history is your most powerful retention tool. It turns subjective "we've been working on your site" into objective "your site went from a D (54) to a B (82) in 3 months".
Recommended workflow
- Baseline scan — audit the client site before you start any work. This is your "before" snapshot.
- Share the baseline — give the client a report showing where they're starting from. This sets expectations.
- Do the work — use the Repair Log as your task list.
- Progress scan — re-scan to capture improvements. The score trend tells the story.
- Share progress — the report shows what improved and what's next.
- Set up monitoring — catch any regressions automatically going forward.
Score history keeps all scans for as long as you have an active plan. We recommend running at least monthly scans for each client to build a meaningful trend line. The PDF report includes score comparisons with previous scans when available.
Advanced SEO (Google Search Console)
Both agency plans include keyword tracking and the core GSC integration from Pro. On top of that, you get deeper SEO data that most agencies need for comprehensive client reporting.
Agency (both tiers)
- Sitemap status — check if your client's sitemap has been submitted, how many URLs are included, and whether there are errors
- Index coverage — see which pages Google has indexed, which are excluded, and the reasons why. "Google can't index 30 of your pages" is a powerful finding to surface in a client report.
Agency Pro only
- URL inspection — check if specific pages are indexed, when they were last crawled, and their mobile usability status
- Core Web Vitals — real user field data (LCP, INP, CLS) that complements the Lighthouse lab data from the standard scan. Field data shows how actual visitors experience the site.
- Manual actions — check if Google has flagged any penalties against the site
- Links report — top linking sites, top linked pages, both internal and external. Useful for backlink analysis and internal linking strategy.
Tip: If you manage all your client sites through one Google account, a single OAuth login will auto-connect all verified domains you have access to in Search Console. No need to connect each site individually.
Best Practices for Agencies
New client onboarding
- Run a baseline audit and save the report
- Add internal notes about the client's context (CMS, hosting, known issues)
- Set up report customisation to hide irrelevant categories/findings
- Share the baseline report with your recommended action plan
- Add the domain to monitoring
Reporting cadence
- Active projects — fortnightly reports showing progress
- Retainer clients — monthly reports with score trends
- Maintenance-only — quarterly health summaries
Consistency matters more than frequency. Regular reports build trust and demonstrate ongoing value — which reduces churn.
Winning new clients
Run a free scan of a prospective client's website. Agency plans show full, unredacted results on all scans, so you can provide detailed findings in your pitch. If their site scores poorly, that's your opening: "Your site scored a D. Here's what's wrong and how we'd fix it."
Handling irrelevant findings
Use report customisation to hide findings that don't apply. Add an agency-only note explaining why you've hidden it (e.g. "Client doesn't send email from this domain — SPF not needed"). You still see everything in your dashboard; the customisation only affects the client PDF.
